The Peterson Group, Mechanical Division is certified with the ISO 3834 part welding on high pressure parts work, as pictured above which was done to replace 355mm diameter 90 degrees’ bend and multi pipes of the same size from boiler main steam pipe. The scope of work typically includes:

• Grinding for preparation
• Root welding with ER79S-6 filler
• Capping with STIG E7018 wire
• Cleaning of weld runs with wire
• Visual inspection after weld completion
• NDT and Xray

Fabrication Technician

Profession

Welding is a metal forming technique that uses fusion to join together two pieces of metal with similar melting points. All our welding activities are conducted by qualified and experienced welders in accordance to qualified procedures, our organization is in the process of acquiring the ISO 3834 welding certificate which is a prerequisite for welding on pressure parts, piping and plates.

We have the capacity and quality control measures to perform welding in our workshop setting and on site at clients’ premises. Fabrication is an evolutionary process, creating a product out of metal using blueprint readings, layout, cutting and preparing materials for assembly.

It's an over-arching process, making use of many techniques, of which welding is the most important. We have experience in erecting structures on site on site and building according to specification within our workshop.
